Surly Curmudgeon

The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.

    Carnage

Here's a quick survey of the carnage wrought by the ice storm a couple weeks ago.

The stuff near the driveway looks worse than it is:

Out towards the neighbor's house, we lost a few trunk-tops:

In the front yard, the most grievous wounds were suffered by one of my largest and oldest trees:

In the back (dog) yard, the fence took a few hits...

...with a couple of treetops threatening future damage:

Finally, there's this big boy taunting me with the problem of how to get it down:

Well, no time like the present to get started cleaning it up.

Calling Captain Danger... come in Captain Danger...

    Yeehaw!
